Kalan trail
A short but steep trail leading you to a popular mountain post, called Koča pri Jelenovem studencu.
This trail is also a starting point to Mala (small) and Velika (large) Kočevska mountain path.
This steep trail takes us from Kočevje to the popular mountain hut – Koča pri Jelenovem studencu – in just over an hour. The hut is open all year from Friday to Sunday. It can host 70 people and sleep 52. The large lawn in front of the hut has benches, a children’s playground and a climbing area on a natural wall. The hut is also the starting point for the Long and Short Kočevje Mountain Trails, but you can also choose shorter hikes to Mestni vrh, Fridrihštajn, Livoldski vrh or to one of the nearby karst caves.
