Rog Hiking Trail
Marked with a bear’s paw symbol, the trail is a real opportunity for several days of exploring the forests of Rog region.
The starting point of the three sections of circular paths is Rudniško jezero/Lake. Only a few steps away from the blue surface you can visit the Željne Caves, where over 20,000 years ago people have been searching for a shelter. You can also visit the Forest Reserve Pugled-Žiben and from there, you can enjoy the silence all the way to the Roška sawmill, whose remains are evidence of booming economic activity. The only “disturbance” of the region are the remnants of the Kočevarske villages, whose inhabitants have long sought a new living space. As the opposite of these remnants, the Rajhenav virgin forest and the Queen of Rog, insist on the same place for centuries as the forest reserve of Prelesnikova koliševka, hiding the cold north flora.
