The Unknown Spaha Archaeological Trail
On a 3.5 km long trail, you will discover the history of this part of the Kočevsko region.
Taking a walk along the archaeological trail, you can find out all about the prehistoric migration area, the anti-Turkish scouting point and the history of local research and findings, dating back to the fourth millennium B.C.
The history of this part of the former German language island in Kočevje is presented along the trail, presenting the natural, archaeological and cultural heritage of the area. The 3.5 km long trail runs from Videm pri Brezovici, above Predgrad, past the abandoned Gottscheer village of Prerigelj to the location of the archaeological site at the top of Spaha. There are ten bilingual information panels along the way and the trail is marked with round white blazes featuring an orange reconstructed ladle with a socketed handle from the period between 5750 and 4500 BC.
